Hopelink brokers spoken language interpreter services to assist clients during medical and DSHS office appointments.
Interpreters work for one of several qualified firms and must pass a DSHS competency test before receiving an assignment from Hopelink. Interpreters provide not only the translation that's important for clear exchange of information, but also help to overcome cultural differences that can hinder full understanding of a client's concerns.
Only healthcare providers or DSHS staff may make requests for interpreters.
