March Can Madness

Are you a business located in Kirkland, Redmond, Shoreline or Sno-Valley? If so, we invite you to join us for a new twist on March Madness this year: "March CAN Madness". Your employees, customers and/or clients can be a part of this fun and creative food drive campaign by helping us gather food donations, and help raise awareness of the issue of hunger in our Eastside communities.

What: This is a fun and competitive drive between local businesses that will help Hopelink stock-up their food banks.

Why: Food donations slow down after the holidays, but the need is still there. Your participation will help fill these shelves with food AND provide your team a fun way to make a difference in your quest for a tournament championship!

How: Donations brought to participating businesses are weighed each week. Results are recorded in a single elimination bracket-style tournament format. Each week teams advance, similar to the famous college basketball March Madness tournament. Bracket standings will be posted on our website.  Please click here for more information on a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

When: The deadline to register your business is February 17th.  The competition runs from March 9th through April 6th.  Please click here to download the registration form and sign up today!

Last year the tournament collected 9,809 pounds of canned food.  This year we are hoping to raise that total.  This is a small and short term commitment for a longer term impact. The March Can Madness food drive comes at a critical time for our local food banks as donations traditionally drop off after the holidays while demand continues to rise.  We look forward to having your company team on our bracket this season.  Let the madness begin!
