Hopelink Joins United Way of King County’s Day of Caring
On Friday, September 16th, Hopelink will participate in United Way of King County’s Day of Caring: the largest single-day mobilization of volunteers in Washington State. The Day of Caring brings thousands of volunteers together, engaging people to help change their communities. Hopelink will host four projects this year:
- A group of students from the Bellevue School District will spend the day at our Bellevue Food Bank, sorting food donations and helping to prepare the food bank for the busy Holiday season.
- Two Microsoft employees, Philip Su and Neil Brench, will provide on-going computer instruction to Hopelink staff, offering tips and tricks on office applications, allowing staff to make the jump from basic computer users to power users.
- A group from Microsoft will be giving our Kenmore Emergency Family Shelter a face-lift, painting several apartments, as well as the outside railing and deck stairs.
- One dedicated group from the Boeing Company will visit Hopelink Place, our Transitional Housing facility in Bellevue, providing much needed maintenance, such as painting apartments and pressure washing and cleaning various areas.
