Hopelink Sees Critical Need for Donations of Food, New Toys and Clothing for Distribution During the Holidays

Document Actions
With the holidays quickly approaching and an increase in the number of people in need in our community, Hopelink urges the public to be generous in donating food, new toys and clothing this holiday season. Hopelink, which provides food, housing assistance and hope through a variety of programs to 50,000 people annually in north and east King County, provided holiday gifts to 5,608 low-income children in 2004, and expects the demand to be significantly greater this holiday season.
Hopelink’s wish list for donated food includes: tuna or other canned meat, peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereal, soup, canned fruit, tomato products, vegetable oil, onions, potatoes, and grocery store gift certificates.  Gifts that are particularly appreciated include: clothing for children ages newborn - 18; gift certificates to stores such as Target, Fred Meyer, Old Navy, and Borders Books; gifts for teens, such as portable CD players, jewelry, and sports equipment.  Please include only new, unwrapped toys, clothing and other gifts in your donation.

During the holidays, our clients are grateful for the festive food we provide to help them better enjoy the season.  The clothing and toys donated to Hopelink are available to low-income parents and grandparents who can shop at any of Hopelink’s six centers for gifts for the children in their families.

Donations may be delivered to any of Hopelink’s six centers on the following schedule:
