Join Hopelink at Borders Books & Music in Redmond Town
Center on Saturday June 11th at 3:00 PM and visit with local author,
Janet Lee Carey, as she talks about her book, The Double Life of Zoe
Flynn. Ms. Carey's book portrays the new face of
homelessness. It’s not the panhandler on the corner, but
out-of-work families, many of which have children. Readers ages
8-14 will identify with the main character, Zoe Flynn, as she and her
family look for a new home. The Double Life of Zoe Flynn has been used in local school curricula to teach and inform children about the effects of poverty and homelessness in our area. Ms. Carey will also be available to sign copies of her books. Borders Books & Music will offer a special opportunity for Hopelink supporters...for every purchase made at Borders on the June 11 using a Hopelink voucher (available here), Borders will donate a portion of the proceeds to Hopelink. There will also be a collection bin for non-perishable food donations for Hopelink's food banks. |
