There are many ways to take action to support the work of Hopelink in our community. In this section you can learn more about how to help Hopelink fulfill its mission.
Each year, nearly 2,000 volunteers donate tens of thousand of hours of service to help Hopelink and its clients. Their contribution directly helps tens of thousands of people each year. These volunteers bring a vast wealth of experience in helping clients to better their lives. Volunteer opportunities include: basic literacy and GED tutor; English as a Second Language teacher; computer teacher/tutor; cooking or money management teacher and food bank volunteer distributing food, doing grocery rescue and making home deliveries for homebound clients. Right here in our neighborhoods, people are struggling to get by. Families lose their homes. Children go hungry. Elderly men and women are stranded without support and resources. Hopelink works hard to provide food, shelter, transportation, family support and hope to North and East King County families in crisis. We can’t do it without the support of the communities we serve. If you would like to make a donation to Hopelink, there are three easy ways:
Hopelink has several regular drives during the course of the year:
End Summer Hunger is Hopelink’s grassroots campaign that gathers the support of the local community. Local businesses, organizations, schools and individuals help provide low-income families with food for kids who qualify for free and reduced-fee breakfasts and lunches during the school year, and support Hopelink's programs for eviction prevention and strengthening families.
Kids Need School Supplies equips area kids with the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom
Holiday Program stocks Hopelink food banks with extra food and gifts so families with few resources can create holiday traditions. In December, each Hopelink center operates a gift room full of new, unwrapped gifts for children. Here, parents and grandparents can select presents to give to the children in their lives.
