Volunteer

Last year 2,611 volunteers donated 61,692 hours to help people in need. Please join us!

Please note: Due to high demand from local school districts, we are currently not able to accommodate students who need hours to complete Senior Projects. If you have questions, please contact Janelle Kitson, Volunteer Program Manager at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Ready to volunteer? Here's how:

  • Create an online volunteer profile, pass a background check and review volunteer opportunities: https://community.hope-link.org/volunteer.
  • Register for the required volunteer orientation session (once the background check has been cleared, you will receive the link to sign up.)
  • Age requirements:
Adult guardian/chaperone(s) are required for volunteers ages 15 and under. At least two adults must volunteer with every group regardless of the size of the group. For larger groups, there must be at least one adult guardian/chaperone per every five volunteers ages 15 and under. Due to the nature of our agency and the services we provide, the minimum age for volunteers is 7. Some jobs may require a minimum age requirement of 16 or 18.

Adult guardians/chaperone(s) are expected to act as positive role models and to help their young volunteers participate in a safe and constructive way. Adults are expected to participate fully in the program, demonstrate safety guidelines, work politely with others, and provide motivation and encouragement.

  • Community service volunteers are welcome provided they meet the requirements.
  • Part of a group looking for one-time opportunities and special events? Contact the Volunteer Program at 425.869.6066 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
  • All Hopelink volunteers are placed based on the individual or group’s availability and Hopelink’s needs.
Please note: Most of our volunteer opportunities occur Monday – Friday during regular business hours

Due to our inability to verify hours for projects and/or drives conducted without our knowledge, program staff are not able to sign off on service hours forms for students or others requesting it. Hopelink’s Volunteer Program Manager or designee will verify service hours for projects done away from Hopelink’s business offices (i.e., a food drive, knit scarves, quilts, etc.), only if the project has been pre-approved and managed with input from Hopelink staff.
