Purpose: To build and strengthen Hopelink's mission by involving a group of talented people with visionary, professional, strategic, social, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial skills and expertise.

The Hopelink Executive Leadership Council provides high-level advice and support to Marilyn Mason-Plunkett, Hopelink President and CEO, and the agency's executive staff.  Membership is by invitation and is open to those whose availability ranges from only a few hours a year to those who can devote a significant amount of time to a committee, project or ongoing activity.

Council activities include:

  • Projects, committees and other work opportunities for members with varying time commitments and involvement levels.
  • Leadership opportunities for committees, events and projects.
  • Quarterly events where you'll meet other Council members and hear a timely, thought-provoking presentation about the issues around poverty and community response.
  • Participating as an informal adviser to Hopelink's executive staff and an advocate for Hopelink, as your time permits.
Involvement Levels

Low Time Commitment (4-6 hours per year)
  • Be available to provide insights, guidance and advice to Hopelink executive staff or assist with a simple request.
  • Informally share your story of Hopelink involvement with friends and colleagues.

Medium Time Commitment (1-4 hours per month)
Provide all support described above, and:
  • Participate on a committee or project team for a defined time period or until a project goal is complete.

High Time Commitment (4-8 hours per month)
Provide all support described above, and:
  • Participate in an ongoing committee or project.
  • Assume a key leadership role for a project or committee.

Membership Agreement
As a member of the Hopelink Executive Leadership Council, you are asked to:
  • Provide assistance as you are able to support Hopelink's mission and work.
  • Meet with Marilyn Mason-Plunkett for a tour and orientation to Hopelink's programs, facilities and involvement opportunities.
  • Attend as many quarterly Council events as possible.
  • Make a meaningful annual financial contribution.
