End Summer Hunger

End Summer Hunger is Hopelink's grassroots campaign that provides food for kids in North and East King County who normally receive free and reduced-fee breakfasts and lunches during the school year. Last year, 67 businesses raised $95,000 in cash and in-kind donations to support the families whose children benefit from the End Summer Hunger campaign.

Hopelink and the children we serve need your help again in 2009. And helping is easy, since Hopelink can provide you, your workplace, school or community group with materials to organize fundraisers or food drives for the End Summer Hunger campaign.

Please click here to download a (pdf*) copy of items needed to fill a bag with the core menu - the minimum a family of four receives at a Hopelink food bank. This food is augmented with fresh vegetables and items as available and should provide a family with 15 meals; the retail value of each bag is $43.

Last year, students at 62 schools raised more than $50,000 through coin drives to help their fellow classmates.
