End Summer Hunger

End Summer Hunger is Hopelink's grassroots campaign that provides food for the 11,000 kids in North and East King County who normally receive free and reduced-fee breakfasts and lunches during the school year. Last year our community of caring donors raised nearly $170,000 in cash and food to help low-income families feed their children.

Hopelink and the children we serve will need your help again in 2009. And helping is easy, since Hopelink can provide you, your workplace or community group materials to organize fundraisers or food drives for the End Summer Hunger campaign.

How to Help

View a list of participating schools, businesses and faith-based groups.

(Last year, students at 43 schools raised more than $40,000 through coin drives to help their fellow classmates!)

This year there will be two new awards:
  • Most Creative Drive: for the business that raises money and/or food in the most creative way.
  • Creating Community Connections: for the business that connects us with the most businesses to run a new drive.

Did you know?
Thanks to Hopelink's unique purchasing agreements, a cash gift is almost 10 times more effective than food. A gift of just $20 allows us to provide nutritious lunches for 16 kids.
