In-Kind Donations

Document Actions

Hopelink is able to keep our costs low thanks to the many individuals and groups who donate food, clothing, baby items, books, toys, gift certificates, vehicles and apartment furnishings. There are many ways to help out with items and services.

Food Banks

Hopelink food banks depend on food donations from individuals and groups (businesses, schools, churches, service clubs) to serve more than 1,500 families each week. We can't do it without you!

In lieu of fresh meat and dairy products, we appreciate your donation of cash or these food items:
  • Tuna or other canned meat
  • Peanut Butter
  • Pasta or Rice
  • Cereal
  • Soup
  • Canned Fruit & Tomato Products
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Onions & Potatoes
  • Grocery Store Gift Certificates

Packaged food, personal care items and baby items can be brought to any of our six Emergency Service Centers.  (Please call first to confirm hours of operation.)

Hopelink also appreciates donations of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables grown by family gardeners.  Donations of fresh produce should be fresh and in excellent consumable condition.  To ensure that your produce donation can be provided to families in need while it is still fresh, please contact your nearest Hopelink food bank to find out when to deliver your donation of fresh produce.  You may provide your donation to one of Hopelink's food banks in Bellevue, Bothell, Carnation, Kirkland, or Redmond.

Phone numbers and addresses of Hopelink food banks are listed here.

Clothing Banks

Hopelink's Sno-Valley Center accepts clothing during regular business hours.  We welcome clothing that is clean and in good condition.  However, we do NOT accept donations from November 1 to December 31.

Please note before making a donation at Sno-Valley Center:

The Sno-Valley Center will NOT be accepting donations of clothing, shoes or bedding from March 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008.

The Hopelink Sno-Valley Center is grateful for the generous donations of clothing, shoes and bedding that community members supply to the Hopelink clothing bank in Carnation. We are able to distribute these items to low-income families across the Snoqualmie Valley due to your generosity. Right now, our storage area and clothing bank are full! In order to take full advantage of the donations that we already have, we will NOT be accepting donations of clothing, shoes or bedding from March 1, 2008 through June 30, 2008. We would still very much appreciate donations of food, cleaning products (laundry detergent, dish washing soap, etc.), personal products (shampoo, soap, toothbrushes and paste, etc.) and new or gently used children’s books. We will accept clothing, shoes and bedding beginning again on July 1, 2008. If you cannot wait to donate your items to Hopelink, please consider donating to Eastside Community Aid, located at 12451 116th Ave NE, Kirkland, WA 98034. They can be reached by telephone at (425) 825-1877. Thank you for your generous and continued support!

Child Development Centers

Hopelink is also grateful for donations that benefit the children who attend our two child development centers.  Please review the lists of items needed for Hopelink's Adelle Maxwell Child Development Center in Bellevue and items needed for Hopelink's Child Development Center at Overlake in Redmond.

Adopt An Apartment

When a family moves out of our Transitional Housing program and into more permanent housing, they are allowed to take the apartment furnishings with them, to help them get started in their new home. So we are always re-furnishing our 32 apartments for the next family moving in. Furniture, kitchen items, appliances, linens and towels and more are always in need. In addition to making individual donations, your group can adopt an apartment: furnish the unit according to the size of the family; if your group wants to, they can even arrange and decorate the unit.  You may also wish to review a list of items currently needed for Hopelink's Transitional Housing program.

Holidays

During the winter holidays, our gift rooms allow parents to choose holiday presents for their children. We welcome new, unwrapped toys, games and books, as well as gift certificates and other gift items for children and teens.
